Occasionally at Lincolnshire Dance, we are able to offer unique projects which are not specifically part of the main programmes, but do encompass the core values of each and Lincolnshire Dance as a whole. We scope out these opportunities to work in partnership with other established arts organisations and institutions, to bring unique and interesting ventures to Lincolnshire.

We try to accommodate dancers who want to add to their professional development or community dancers who want to embrace dance and the arts or try something new.

Recently we have coordinated or partnered with the following exciting ventures in Lincolnshire:

• residency with a specialised dance organisation – StopGAP Dance Company, which focuses on dance with disabled people. We partnered in this project and brought together children and young adults with a range of skills and ability to put a piece together which built on creativity, confidence and movement. The group then performed their piece at large scale youth dance event at The South Holland Centre in Spalding.
• Lincolnshire Dance were pleased to partner NightJAR in their celebration of astronomy and local ancestry through the medium of dance. On the night of the longest day - Summer Solstice, a company which combined amateur dancers and professions of all ages, performed their specially choreographed work in the shadows of Lincoln’s historic Cathedral quarter. Locals and visitors intrigued by the performance, gathered to watch the live event unfold. NightJAR, The Labours -An Astronomical Dance was part of Igniting Ambition, a Cultural Olympiad programme which takes the London 2012 games as inspiration to create once-in-a-lifetime cultural opportunities for communities.

We have an ambition to bring the joy of dance and the intrigue of all art forms to Lincolnshire and we will explore every possibility of bringing something a little new and different for everyone to experience.
