This is the website for Lincolnshire Dance, the Dance development Agency for the county of Lincolnshire. Meet the team

Keyna Paul: Director

Before founding LD Keyna’s career included teaching in formal education and working freelance as a practitioner and consultant. From 2004-2006 she was seconded to Dance Links, part of the PESSCL strategy, as Project Manager leading on writing and disseminating Dance Links – A guide to delivering high quality dance for children and young people.

Responsible for the vision and development of LD the organisation invests in individual dancers and the development of a culture where dance and dancers are encouraged to thrive in the knowledge that their artistic commitment to Lincolnshire is encouraged and supported. Her innovative NVQ Level 3 programme, ‘Art Form Development and Teaching’, was winner of the ESF - Best Training Award 2006. Throughout her career she has contributed to publications and conferences, speaking and writing on topics such as dance education, training community dance practitioners and developing dance in rural communities. She has served on the boards of several regional and national organisations. The most notable example of this is her work with the Executive Committee of the Foundation for Community Dance, where she was elected to the posts of vice-chair and chair. She continues to study gaining postgraduate qualifications in dance and mentoring from the universities of Surrey and Leeds Metropolitan respectively.

Jess Scantlebury: Freedom in Dance Co-ordinator

Whilst studying dance at the University of York St Johns, Jess co-founded Chilli Bon Bon, an integrated dance company for adults with or without learning difficulties. Within four months of its inception, the group were selected to perform at Yorkshire Dance’s Dansopolis (2007). They have since performed a number of times, most notably at the York Grand Opera House as part of York’s ‘Jus’ Dance’ festival (2008).

Jess co-ordinates LD’s dance for older people programme which aims to increase the provision of dance activities for the over fifties living in Lincolnshire (see our ‘Freedom in Dance’ section for more details of the programme).

Lucy Colgan: Supported Work Opportunity

Following her training in Theatre Performance and Music (2003), Lucy completed her Professional Diploma in Dance studies at Laban (2006) and has since enjoyed a diverse career as a teacher, singer, dancer, director and choreographer. Lucy is currently undertaking the graduate training programme at LD and is developing both her teaching and project co-ordinating skills whilst leading half/full day workshops and weekly sessions in local schools and community centres. Lucy is also leading our integrated performance group 'ID' as an after school club following a highly successful 8 week project and performance tour. Lucy works in a variety of educational settings providing creative dance, drama and music workshops for young people aged 4-18yrs.
